Bike week, 7 years ago? Me, mates, and scoot’s.
The Vespa had lost top speed and had a high idle. After a little checking in the engine bay I found a vacuum leak. Just a quick repair with silicone hose and the Vespa was up to speed.
It started on two wheels with the Orlando based Cafe Moto.I got to ride with motorcycles that I’ve only seen in magazines; vintage triumphs, BSA’s, Norton Commando’s. The highlight for me was Gus breaking down on his freshly built Honda 400. It was his first time out on the vintage bike. It got heat soaked, loaded up with fuel, and then shut down in traffic. Some of the other rider’s were ready to throw it in the support truck. We waited 15 mins for it to cool, kicked it, and the 2 cylinder came back to life.
